Maurice V Taylor is Founder and Chairman of The Chardon Group.
Maurice has worked within the hospitality sector for over 50 years.
Following completion of an engineering apprenticeship, Maurice joined British Transport Hotels and successfully completed an international management scheme at such prestigious hotels as Turnberry and Gleneagles. Having worked as General Manager with Thistle Hotels in Scotland and London, Maurice formed his own company, Chardon Hotels, to develop his own hotels, residential properties in London, Parklands Country Club in Glasgow and a hotel complex in Portugal.
Maurice recently celebrated over 50 years of working in the hospitality sector with no plans to stop. Hospitality is his lifeblood; he loves to innovate and to introduce new concepts. His great strength is his enthusiasm for everything he does. Maurice has staffed his company, the Chardon Group, with a talented team of professionals and the years ahead look set to produce exciting and prosperous times with significant growth projected for all the company’s divisions.
One of Maurice’s previous business innovations with Chardon was a Joint Venture with New York based Starwood Capital Group, from 2005 to 2013, to form European hotel owning company ’STARDON’ with ambitious plans to break into Europe.
Until September 2014 Maurice was Chief Executive of Chardon Management, the UK’s leading independent management company. It operated over 50 hotels around the UK under a variety of global brands, including: Hilton, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo. It was sold to the world’s largest independent hotel management company, Interstate Hotels and Resorts.
